The Sapient Capital renovated office exemplifies how thoughtful design can reinforce brand identity and elevate the workplace experience. This 20,000-square-foot tenant improvement (TI) project in Indianapolis, led by Parallel Design Group, transformed an existing ground-floor space into a modern, welcoming environment that reflects Sapient Capital’s bespoke investment advisory services.

The renovation showcases four Shaw Contract flooring products: Origin PVC-free hard surface and Knotted, Exchange and Heddle carpet tile; each style was selected to support the project’s aesthetic and performance goals. The result is a space that fosters meaningful collaboration between Sapient associates and clients in an elevated, yet approachable professional services office.

Creating a Branded Experience Through Product Selection

The Parallel Design Group team prioritized materials that would deliver both durability and elevated visual appeal. Origin Rigid Core in the color Inherent was used throughout the space for its performance features and warm tones. Origin offers an elevated visual inspired by natural hardwoods. Its mineral core construction allows for installation over existing surfaces with minimal floor prep and requires no acclimation time. Origin, from the Mineral Floor collection, will not telegraph over the subfloor, making it an ideal solution for office remodel projects.

“We needed the resilience and high-performance durability of Mineral Floor, while providing the warmth of wood. The overall design concept required a hard surface with an elevated appearance. Origin was a great product solution and a high-performance alternative to traditional LVT,” said Stephanie Burkhart, Parallel Design Studio Director.

Knotted and Exchange carpet tiles, both in the color Souk, serve as visual anchors in public areas, conference rooms and private offices. These patterns were chosen for their rich texture and depth of color, adding sophistication and contrast to the space. Heddle Tile in Argan was used throughout the open office area.

“The environment is open and versatile, driving collaboration and the exchange of ideas throughout the office layout. Rich wood tones, stone surfaces and burnished brass accents were used throughout the space to provide a feeling of luxury and professionalism,” Burkhart said.
