Learn The Inspiration Behind Our Favorite Hotel Carpet Designs of 2025
We asked Shaw Contract Hospitality designers for their most memorable patterns of 2025. See the stories and inspiration behind the styles that stole their custom carpet-loving hearts!
Midnight Hospitality Custom Carpet: rugs and broadloom
The collections we launched last year spanned such a wide range of styles that choosing favorites felt nearly impossible! We kicked off the year with the moody, dramatic spirit of Midnight, a collection built on rich storytelling and a narrative that blurs the line between fantasy and reality. These are a few of my favorite designs:
- RR96861: This design truly feels like art for the floor. It’s layered and dynamic, bringing energy and creating a really bold, expressive statement.
- RR96864: Botanical but abstract, this pattern strikes a balance between organic form and inky ambiguity. I love its versatility. It feels slightly feminine, yet it is grounded by deep, rich blues and greens.
- RF96857: This pattern has been a customer favorite! It is simple yet mesmerizing, and the oversized scale paired with soft fluidity creates a sense of drama without overwhelming a space.
Radiant Hospitality Custom Carpet: rugs and broadloom
With Radiant, we embraced the growing trend of rich, warm neutrals. The collection is a celebration of sparkle, both in its inspiration of beading and sequins, and also in those moments of celebration and serendipity. I love how these two designs capture that feeling:
- AXF98150: This Axminster pattern proves that you can create a sense of sparkle with cut pile wool, which usually has a more matte finish. The mix of warm and cool metallics really pops against the rich black background, creating that feeling of glitz and glamour.
- RR99351: I love the movement and glimmer in this dramatic rug design! I can visualize it being used in the types of spaces where you celebrate grand moments together.
Roam Garden Chateau Custom Hospitality Carpet: rugs and broadloom
This collection explored the English and Provençal countryside and is deeply nostalgic for me. Nostalgia is one of my biggest creative influences, and Roam Garden Chateau reminds me of my paternal grandmother. Growing up, we’d have tea at 10 on Tuesdays. Those days were complete with fancy teacups, little cookies and unhurried intentional conversation. I see those memories reflected here: the blue florals on her delicate china, the greenhouse overflowing just outside the dining room, afternoons spent in rocking chairs outside together. This collection feels as cozy as those moments.
My favorites:
- CF97826: A classic Jacobean done perfectly. I love how it evokes English china in a way that feels elevated, usable and perfect for cozy, layered spaces.
- CT97071: A playful geometric paired with abstract botanicals. It reminds me of iron rod fences wrapped in ivy and wisteria. Very Secret Garden, which I’ll always love.
Reverie Hospitality Custom Carpet: rugs and broadloom
Reverie is my favorite collection of the year, just don’t tell the others! I may be biased since it was inspired by our design journey to Japan. Every time I look at it, I’m instantly transported back to the temples, museums, nature and experiences we had there. Exploring the passage of time through nature, drawing from some of the most beautiful textiles I’ve ever seen, and perfecting the complex color palette and unique textures made this project incredibly meaningful. I’m genuinely proud to have worked on it.
Choosing favorites here feels like torture, if I could choose them all I would. Narrowing down I’d have to say:
- RR101844: A happy accident. We were trying to capture the idea of a Japanese fan without being too literal, and it evolved into something that also feels like a stained glass rose window. To me, it looks like clouds during a vivid sunset seen through a hazy memory.
- RF101849: Colors, colors, colors. This palette is one of my all-time favorites. Crisp, autumnal and full of movement; the illustrated clouds are the icing on top.
- RR101852: A bit of a wildcard for me! While the collection is vibrant overall, this winter design feels neutral without leaning gray or tan. The movement reminds me of an abstract snowstorm and makes me want to channel Lorelai Gilmore and say, “I smell snow.”
