Shaw Contract opens its doors in the Netherlands

Shaw Europe Ltd., trading as Shaw Contract, is pleased to announce that it has opened a new office, showroom and sample distribution base in Oosterhout, the Netherlands. Located in the southern Netherlands, within easy access from The Randstad, the new space offers an opportunity to showcase the company’s product portfolio and meet with clients and aligned dealers to discuss their flooring project needs.

A first for the international flooring brand, it also represents a significant new base for the company in Continental Europe, in the Netherlands which is the birthplace of carpet tile manufacturing, and at the heart of the carpet and flooring manufacturing business.

New direct sales team in place

This significant move has also provided the ideal opportunity for Shaw Contract to apply the same sales and marketing approach that it operates in both the UK and in France, supporting direct sales teams now in all of these countries: UK & Ireland, France and the Netherlands. The company also has a base in Dubai to service the needs of the Middle East and Africa region.

Shaw Contract is delighted to welcome as account managers for the Netherlands former Director of P&R Trading, Sacha van Eibergen Santhagens, along with Elisabeth Korenhof.

Sacha has extensive experience of working with and selling Shaw Contract products during her time at P&R Trading and brings more than 25 years experience of working within the design-led flooring industry, and being an integral part of P&R Trading over that time.

Meanwhile Elisabeth joins the team with experience in the contract tile market in the area of The Hague and Rotterdam, and will develop new relationships for the company with flooring contractors, end-users and architects in The Randstad.

Leading the sales team is Lars Huppertz, Regional Vice President for Continental Europe.

New base in Oosterhout

Shaw Contract has taken over the premises of its former aligned dealer P&R Trading, which since 1995 has been its dealer/distributor in the Netherlands. Divisional Vice President for EMEA, David Smith says: “This is an exciting step in the development of our European business. We look forward to welcoming our customers and aligned dealers to Oosterhout, and being able to work with them to realise exciting flooring designs in our new space.”

“Our commitment also includes the location of part of our EMEA customer service team at our new base in Oosterhout to directly meet the needs of our customers in Continental Europe. Over time we will also see other support staff join them including marketing and finance support functions.”

These include carpet tile collections made in the UK, at Shaw Contract’s manufacturing facility in Scotland, which offers competitively-priced products for quick turn-around projects, made in Europe.
